The Lakeside Hammers Community Programme

The Lakeside Hammers Community Programme (LHCP) was created in 2010 and has been privileged to receive invaluable backing from our lead Community Partners Ruggles & Jeffery Ltd since 2011.

The establishment of the Community Programme has enabled the club to expand its work with schools, clubs, charities and community organisations over the last seven years and we are determined to continue this progress in 2017. We are especially keen to help causes that are dear to the hearts of all speedway fans.

The club supports charity fundraising by donating auction & raffle prizes and the club’s Community Liaison Manager Mark Sexton spreads the Hammers’ message throughout local schools & business groups. Mark also has a strategic management role in Thurrock Council’s flagship Next Top Boss educational project.

For further information, or to see how you can get involved, please contact our Community Liaison Manager Mark Sexton:  marksexton@lakesidehammers.com or 07951 698363

Charity

The Lakeside Hammers designated charity for 2017 is, for the fourth year in a row, Little Havens Hospice. Set in beautiful surroundings in Rayleigh, Essex, the Little Havens Hospice cares for children with life-limiting conditions, and their families, throughout the journey of their illness.

We would love our fans to make a financial pledge that #makeseverypointcount. This can be as little as a penny per race point scored by Hammers riders throughout the 2017 National League season! Pledge forms are available at the track and here on the Hammers site.

We also proactively support other charities and causes throughout the year and will help to promote any charitable events that we are made aware of throughout the season. To advertise your event, please contact Mark to discuss any requirements.

Below are just some of the charities and beneficiaries that the Hammers have supported since 2012:
